
Wherry’s Case Study
AgriLinx are working with market leading seed and pulse specialists, Wherry & Sons Ltd to help them establish a network of local growers for a Marrowfat pea contract.
Wherry & Sons are a family run business supplying around 55% of the UK’s marrowfat peas - if you’ve bought a tin of mushy peas, or added a portion to your fish and chips, the chances are it was supplied by Wherry & Sons.
Wherry’s were looking to increase their capacity by investing in more local sourcing, while continuing to provide customers with the best products.
AgriLinx has worked with Wherry’s to tailor a new contract package for growers and using AgriLinx establish links and relationships has been able to take the new contracting offer directly to the farmer on farm.
The new contracts are supported by experienced and qualified AgriLinx contract managers to provide growers with on farm support throughout the contract. Growers also have access to in field expertise and agronomy through AgriLinx and the PGRO to help them maximize yields and gain the most value from the contract.
Through this partnership, Wherry's has been able to increase local sourcing capacity without the cost of an in-house contracting team – whilst maintaining links with growers.
